Game Design and Development

In this course, you’ll learn how to design and develop your own games using Fusion 2.5, a kid-friendly game-creation software from Clickteam. You’ll start by building and customizing pre-set games, and then you’ll create your own original adventure. Because if you want to play the next five-star-rated game, you’ll have to build it first.

What You’ll Learn to Create

  • Program and design fun computer games
  • Create a library of custom games
  • Build levels, points, backgrounds, sounds, and more!
  • Convert game files for mobile play (optional)
  • Your own set of games to play and share such as:
    • Ping!
    • Ice Breakers
    • Cat Burglar
    • Alien Attack
    • Pest Busters
    • Amazon Adventure
    • Your own original game from a large collection of custom assets
    • View sample projects

I am almost done with the game I am making. I am so glad I got my tech classes, They are so fun. It is almost like I am not doing school.”

My 15 year old son took a Computer Game Programming class, and found it so engrossing that he and his brothers have been happily working on games on their own (not assigned games).”

My boys each took separate classes in My Tech High, from game programming to computer artwork, and I quickly found them borrowing each other’s programs and working cooperatively on projects other than the assigned ones (such as creating their own extensive games in Multimedia Fusion, with one making sprites, another working in integrating the sprites, and the third acting as tester for the whole).”

I love watching my 10-year old son learn the skill of following directions with his Game Design class. While it doesn’t matter to me that he learns to design games, I love the skill he’s gaining from the course. Great Job!”
