Grade 3 - 12 (age 8 - 18)

Visual Arts Club

This is a monthly club that runs both semesters 1 & 2. There are three different groups for different ages. Red (3-5 grade), Blue (6-8 grade), and Yellow (9-12 grade).

We will explore different mediums of art, including pencil drawing, pen drawing, watercolor paint, 3D art, and more.

We will have monthly themes starting with September: Summer Sketches. Advisors will send out a monthly email with optional supplementary art projects you can do in your free time that match our theme.

In our monthly meeting we will start our new art project and then split into 2 groups to help facilitate conversations amongst peers. Our hope is that you meet some friends with the same love of art you have, and get to experience a few different art mediums to expand your artistic ability. At the end of each club you should have a piece of art you can continue perfecting throughout the month, and at the end of the year, you will pick one art medium to create your museum piece with.

Red Group (3rd-5th graders): 1st Wednesdays at 2:00 PM MST

Blue Group (6th-8th graders): 2nd Wednesdays at 2:00 PM MST

Yellow Group (9th-12th graders): 3rd Wednesdays at 2:00 PM MST

Club Advisors:

Alexia Brooks
Elementary and Art Teacher for the last 4 years. I love painting, drawing, gardening, and reading with my two sons.

Heather Porter

Angel Holmes
I've been teaching for 15 years because I love seeing creativity in action. Although art and science are my favorite, I love the thrill of trying new things. At my house we are always engineering, climbing, and plotting an adventure.

Student Leadership:

Two student council members will be selected from both the blue and yellow groups. These students will coordinate with other club leaders and Student Officers about any challenges or events happening around My Tech High. Please see your advisors for more information.
